have coached on habits like I said many a time because it is a topic that can actually keep so many stuck from creating the results they actually want and so I’m gonna talk about that and […0.6s] here’s the problem that a lot of you are facing you’re working towards healthy habits quote unquote because that’s what you were taught to do with your health right that messaging is everywhere healthy habits and what this usually looks like is you focus on organization and planning so maybe you get a habit tracker you get a journal you get a planner and what you’re doing when you do this is you are providing yourself the feeling of satisfaction when you check something off a list so what’s happening is you view taking action on specific things each day as achieving a your goal being done if you check all these things off you will get the outcome you want so get hours of sleep I’ll have enough energy eat a certain amount of calories I’ll reach my ideal weight if I exercise this way each day I will have a tone body […0.6s] maybe but only ever to an extent will a habit checklist create an outcome you want and here’s the thing if you just focus on habits you will not keep them […0.5s] and you already know this cause I know I’ve tried […0.6s] you will not keep those habits because a habit focus is very surface level it is not wrong or bad I am pro habits you guys haha but it’s just a bit elementary for the type of transformation I know you are here to create and that is the information I’m gonna provide you with on this podcast so the result you’re probably wanting to create here because I know […0.5s] you want a result with your body that is long lasting and reflective of your preferences and then two you want to become the person who has those results in your life without constantly having to force it right you want those results with ease where you’re no longer that wishful thinking person who just tries to organize everything to have those results or forces them or works really hard constantly you wanna become a woman where everyone in your life wonders wow how is it so easy for her because it really is and so that’s what we need to establish here first right away the problem is that your inhabits focused energy versus results focused on and up […0.5s] versus the problem is that you’re in habits focused strategy versus results focus strategy and identity focus strategy and this is gonna keep you stuck so here’s why a habits focus strategy is a problem for many of you and why you’re not in a results focused identity focus strategy it’s important to know that habits and the results you really want are not the same thing I’m gonna say that again habits and the results you want are not the same thing habits let’s define it this way they are a single focus […0.6s] on a specific actions or they are a single focus on specific actions you think are necessary or right to create the result you want […0.6s] it’s a single focus on specific actions what habit formation it’s not experimentation it’s not evaluation it’s not strategy okay it is a checklist that someone else gave you whether you’re aware of it or not it’s based on a perception of what you currently think is right or wrong to do for a goal […0.5s] now and with the knowledge and awareness you currently have and what I can tell you right now because I was exactly the same the knowledge and awareness you have now is not gonna get you the results you want you need to build that through experimentation and learning and what many of you are trying to do is create a checklist of habits based on what you know now and this isn’t wrong or bad it’s just what a focus on habits will limit you to and if you disagree or have a different view of habits try not to argue that point in your mind I invite you to see the point I’m making here on a broader scale because this focus is when you’ll gravitate towards the checklist apps habit tracking planners a lot of just elementary muddly stuff that doesn’t create clean results that are at the caliber you want wellness culture really loves to sell healthy habits it’s very popular there’s a reason why the best selling books and whatever is all about habits cause it’s very sexy and it […0.5s] gives us that gratification they can be great to a point […0.5s] because it’s a bit elementary and not representative of the woman who will have the results with ease and that is where we want you to get to and let’s be real without any judgment I want you to genuinely be willing to ask yourself this question do y’all think that version of yourself so that version of you who has these high level results with ease and stability is using tracking apps planners habit formation checklist that she downloaded from Pinterest to make sure she achieves her goals no she’s not doing any of that I wanna bet my friend that version of us is dabbling and it’s someone who’s trying to create the result and maintain control but doesn’t ultimately feel like the person who has it if you do not have the results you want yet but you’ve been focused on habit tracking you don’t identify as a person who doesn’t need those things do you see what I mean because habit tracking doesn’t create results actions and experimentation is what creates results so the problem with a lot of habit focused things as well is that it will keep you comfortably dabbling if you’re an intellectual type a woman you will likely gravitate towards planning researching learning things like that to make you feel productive in reaching a goal when it really doesn’t create the goal at all if you’re learning about nutrition planning your meals look up researching how to lose weight you aren’t taking action towards weight loss it is not contributing towards it directly those things aren’t bad but if you don’t have your goal you’re probably hiding in those things and I’m getting ready as I mentioned right I’m getting ready to host my first advanced […0.6s] mastermind called for everybody and right now what’s happening is the ladies are getting prepared for the level of transformation in that room it’s definitely gonna be a space for a lot of growth and something that’s already happening and it’s right on time […0.5s] is a few of the ladies are realizing that their growth isn’t to bring with them the mindset of habit tracking planning and more tools it’s to actually shelf that now so they can become a woman who no longer needs those things […0.5s] to create her goal we’re gonna clean it all up because then or you just get to become the woman identity wise and skill wise who has those results with ease you’ll see what I mean so here’s a practical example and this relates to some of the women who will be in that room as well maybe you lost the first part of the weight so you’ve built skills and healthy eating […0.5s] and your health in general but you’re not quite there yet you can’t just maybe you need to lose the last 10 pounds £15 there’s another phase of your results that is still on the table and the thing is you can’t just change habits to get there anymore now you’ve reached a point a wall where an identity shift has to happen for you to move further because you cannot be the same person you are now that got you here and create the results you want you will have to become someone new my friends and turns out the version of you who spends a lot of time habit tracking researching and planning for transformation […0.6s] can’t come with you because that’s your safe zone when you’re planning you can feel like your growth will be clean and comfortable but growth isn’t comfortable it’s gonna stretch you so you realize when you’re stretched to those self so you realize […0.5s] when you’re stretched to shelf those coping mechanisms what’s left for you to actually follow through on for instance is becoming someone who doesn’t comfort herself with food anymore when you stop dabbling in the planning and the habit tracking and the how TOS the real work will present itself right and it’s gonna give you an opportunity to build unshakeable self trust that you’re gonna do what you’ll say you’ll do because you keep your commitments that version of you who no longer plans for success but the moment she sees an area of work she takes […0.5s] action on it she wastes no time so this is to say that a habits focus not that we need to view as less than that’s not what I’m saying what I’m saying is it’s likely not going to be what gets you to that fully embody transformation because I’m betting your most evolved healthiest self with the optimal results you want doesn’t focus on healthy habits she focuses on just the necessary simple actions that create the result she wants and being the person who has the result she wants habits imply consistency in a perfectionistic way so it’s where you’re more focused on getting something done each day versus the actual goal so I find when I coach my ladies who are in the habit mindset which is where most of us start that’s when you’re focused on what the right and wrong actions are it’s very black and white you’re more focused on […0.5s] what you do versus the result you’re moving towards does that make sense so many of you are focusing on habits because you’re so in the right and wrong of things it’s very performative and this is often when we’re avoiding failure right we think there’s a world in which we can just check off the list know we did everything right have the goal weight the healthier relationship with food or your fit body […0.5s] and that’s not what’s gonna happen in order for you to make this transformation you’re gonna have to do the deeper work which is structured I tell you exactly what to do in my programs but it’s not a checklist transformation happens in your thoughts and emotions before translating into actions that is identity focused growth that is coaching work that’s foundational work that changes you and last […0.6s] habits is just focused on what you need to do […0.5s] not who you’re being as you do them and that is what actually creates change many of you are trying to commit to habits or actions and it doesn’t last long term because you’re actually maintaining an identity that is sabotaging you that can’t come with you you’re having doubt that you’ll get there so you throw in the towel you’re having stress […0.5s] day to day and those cravings come in and you let them throw you off track you’re having imposter syndrome because you don’t yet feel mentally like the woman who is at her goal body […0.5s] right that’s all emotional work friends it’s identity work and it habits checklist why it’s too elementary is it won’t get you there in fact if you’re not aware right it’s gonna hold you back because it’s gonna be a comfy safe zone that your brain has created for you and that’s what the brain does to sabotage it will compel you to do the things that keep you emotionally comfortable and safe and what’s more comfy than living with the possibility of who we could become but never actually feeling the discomfort of becoming her all right and I’m gonna say that again cause y’all this is it what is more comfortable than living with the possibility of who we could become but never actually feeling the discomfort of becoming her why y’all are having so much fun creating journals habit trackers planners is because it’s just representative of this fun hopeful possibility of who you could become but actually becoming her and taking action and experimenting […0.5s] is uncomfortable you will not feel motivated to do that and that’s where we need to stop lying to ourselves it’s funny because this is a very unrelated example to healthy eating but I had a friend tell me that her grandmother […0.7s] always would talk about whenever she visited her grandmother her grandmother would always talk about how she could have been this concert pianist this really incredible piano player and she could have done that professionally but what’s interesting is that is the land that so many people will indefinitely live in the mindset of oh I could have been great […0.7s] right versus going through the discomfort the humbling […0.5s] ego bursting discomfort of oh I’m gonna take action to get really good at playing piano or losing weight or becoming a naturally healthy eater and I’m gonna suck at it for a little bit I’m gonna feel shame I’m gonna feel disappointment I’m gonna process it and what a lot of you guys are doing is you’re being the grandmother who says well if I actually did do something I could have been great and I don’t want you guys to live in that muddly region where you’re planning for success indefinitely versus having it and that requires growth discomfort and something different from you so I hope this makes sense so far I hope you’re still with me the theme so far is that habits aren’t bad we’re not less than if we have a habit’s focus my brain loves the checklist and planners too I am you are me I understand my clients know this but the point is where this is keeping you stuck I want you to graduate from being someone who dabbles in healthy living to becoming someone who is an example of it with ease that is my shbut that is my coaching specialty the solution to this is graduating into a result space focus and an identity based focus so let’s talk about each a results based focus is exactly as it sounds instead of focusing on what actions you think you need to take to create a result […0.7s] you are focused on the result you’re creating […0.5s] evaluating progress and then establishing your actions further from there alright so let me explain this I’m gonna give you the example from my owner eating habits membership so this is where to start when you want a process for mastering the skills of naturally healthy eating if you wanna do that get inside there yesterday so what happens is we take you out of the habits focus by evaluating weekly and monthly our results so we have this monthly call called a monthly review session we all do it together as a community and what we do is we measure how often we’re following through on the skills in this program so skills like mental awareness processing emotions honoring body cues things you learn how to do so we measure the actions right that happens but then what we do we don’t create another checklist we establish what the result was with our body from the actions we took which for most of my ladies is the weight loss result or whatever body result you’re working towards now here’s the big focus that needs to happen my clients know the focus once we have this data isn’t just to follow through on a checklist of skills more that would be a habits focus what we do instead is we keep working the equation to yield the result we want so in other words there are many women in fact every woman I coach to their goal weight doesn’t have a perfect checklist of the skills that’s not how they created the result how they created the result is by experimenting hypothesizing what to do next and then moving forward from there […0.5s] a focus on just the actions is too elementary you have to focus on who you’re being with the actions and what they do is they keep working their own equation to yield the weight loss they want they get coaching they evaluate […0.5s] they work the process individually to create the weight loss and this can be easy to miss so I’m also gonna put it like this if you just focused on how much you follow through with skills you would just keep working the skills until you follow through with them perfectly right in your mind but then what happens is if you don’t create the results you want you feel lost and you feel like nothing is working versus a result space focused where you use the results you’re creating to inform you of what to focus on next you don’t assume what to do next based on expectations you’re having of what you’re supposed to do or what you perceive right and wrong to be that closes your mind so much to your own resourcefulness on what the best next step is really when we think about skill building it’s not a checklist right when you get inside on your eating habits you begin the process you’re gonna start building skills that give you results quickly but it is gonna be through experimentation and very mature resourcefulness it’s not going to be from checking off a list does that make sense I want you to see this difference and it makes a lot of sense when you start putting this into practice now let’s talk about an identity based focus to get you where you want to be with your health results and your life so this is the essence of coaching you guys and it is why coaching is essential to create results long term because what needs to happen to create results that last is not to just change what you do in your life it’s to change who you are and stay with me because this isn’t fluffy this is the most strategic thing you will do to create these results an identity based strategy might be different than what you’ve done in the past because this is the strategy you’re likely missing it’s why you’ve picked up and put down healthy eating or weight loss and haven’t kept it because you can’t just change what you do you need to change who you are my friend and who you are this concept is not fluffy it’s understanding that who you are is a collection of thoughts and emotions that you experience day to day […0.6s] and that’s what is creating your actions how you show up and the current results in your life without coaching that skill that awareness your thoughts and emotions and who you believe you are now will bring you back to square one indefinitely your home base your internal standard of who you see yourself as you’ll make progress then find you have the same results you did years ago and […0.5s] and why does this happen because of your thoughts emotions and identity so to make changes not just permanently but extraordinarily where the life you have isn’t even recognizable you need to change how you think how you emotionally feel your life and show up differently from that work and at its root the skills of this are changing your neural pathways mental conditioning this isn’t new stuff but it is not what’s going but it is not what’s being sold to you normally likely this will be an entirely new skill for you and the problem is this focus which is the most important focus by the way this is why I can coach anyone who is willing to grow and take them from wherever they’re at to a fully unrecognizable transformation when they’re willing to go here but the problem with this focus you guys is it won’t be in your safe zone it won’t be who you’re accustomed to being it won’t be planning dabbling hoping for your future result it’s that butterfly analogy right you’re getting out of the chrysalis you’re moving through the goo to become the butterfly and you establish that is something you’re wanting to do to change who you are which is what it takes to create and keep the results you want you will have to change your beliefs about yourself your body your health and your life you will need to be willing to become someone different and this isn’t messy there is a step by step process to this this is what
