How to Feel Better Instantly

How to Feel Better Kat Rentas

Today, we’re going to cover a topic that will absolutely, without a doubt, change your life if you put it into practice.

And trust me, I don’t say this lightly.

I’m about to fill you in on how you can create any feeling you want, so you can finally produce the results you desire.

I mean, imagine having complete control over your feelings on any given day?!

What could you accomplish if you learned to manage this aspect of your life?

This is big stuff, guys.

So grab some coffee, a cozy blanket and read this from start to finish.

You’ll be happy you did.

The Cause of Our Feelings

I want to challenge you to consider that every feeling you’ve ever had in your life is 100% under your control.

Whether they’ve been feelings of regret, anger or self-doubt.

You make the decision to feel these feelings.

Now, before you leave this article in a “Who does she think she is to tell me that?!” state of defensiveness, let me explain.

I promise you the reasoning will make you feel better, not worse.

The reason why you have every feeling in life is due to your thoughts.

What you think on a day-to-day basis, whether it’s intentional or subconscious, directly causes your feelings – which will eventually cause your results in life.

Which is a pretty big freaking deal!

This idea doesn’t come from some crazy spiritual ideology either.

To understand this you don’t need to read tarot cards, track your moon cycle, or do hippie dances on the beach every weekend.

(Not that there’s anything wrong with that – but that’s just not the type of thinking we’re talking about here.)

The process we’ll cover here is just the way our brains – and the world – works.

To better understand this we can use a self-coaching model that I first learned from Brooke Castillo.

Basically, this model tells us that…

  • Our thoughts cause our feelings
  • Our feelings spur our actions
  • Our actions produce our results

This entire sequence is independent of our circumstances in life.

Meaning that you can create any feeling you want, regardless of the facts.

The facts being: what car you drive, how many kids you have, whether you’re married, etc.

This is why people living in poverty-stricken countries can be just as happy (or happier) than the world’s most successful billionaires.

It’s because their thoughts align with the feelings they want to create.

To help you incorporate this model successfully I’ve created a 5-step method that you can start implementing daily.

I know this method of personal development work can feel unnatural to many at first.

And there’s no shame in that!

When I started hearing about these methods I was skeptical.

But once I bit the bullet and started incorporating these tactics, my life took a complete turn for the better.

In order for it to work in your life, you have to be open-minded to learning personal development work that is not yet familiar to you.

So, let’s get into the step-by-step process!

The 5-Step Method to Create Any Feeling You Want

1) Write Down What You’re Feeling

Seems simple, right?

Well, it’s actually a lot more intense than it seems.

The chances that you have actually taken the time to do this in-depth before are slim.

There are so many feelings we’re carrying around on a daily basis that we’re not even aware of.

So, just sit in silence and examine what your body is currently feeling.

Make sure you write a one-word feeling.

Examples of this are shame, fearful, anger, etc.

This can be hard at first, which is natural.

A good way to better connect with our feelings is to understand that they’re just vibrations in our body.

Pay attention to each area of your body and notice what’s going on there – this is why body-scan meditation is useful.

Keep in mind that acknowledging some less than desirable feelings can be really hard emotionally.

But, just open up to this process and don’t judge yourself.

The only way to create feelings you want is by acknowledging the ones you have right now.

2) Write Down What Thoughts Are Causing That Feeling

Here’s where you’re going to dive deep and get to the nitty-gritty. ?

I want you to take the list of feelings you wrote and write a corresponding thought that has been causing that feeling.

An example of this would be if you wrote down the feeling of “guilt”.

The thought creating this feeling could be, “I’m a bad mother because I don’t spend enough time with my kids.”

Many have trouble with this step at first, but that’s because it requires practice!

You have to commit to this process until it becomes easier.

And I know it can be hard to dig this deep into your thoughts.

But trust me, it’s so beyond worth it once you get to the other side.

3) Write Down What You Want To Feel

Now, here’s where it gets a little more uplifting!

Make a list of all feelings you want to feel – right now.

Once again, these should be one-word feelings.

Some examples would be excitedness, confidence, persistence, etc.

The beauty of this exercise is you can literally choose ANY feeling you want.

4) Write Down What Thoughts Will Cause Those Feelings

Here, you’ll need to brainstorm what thoughts you’ll manifest daily to create those feelings you want.

An example of this would be if you wanted to cause feelings of “confidence” you could manifest a thought such as “I am capable of accomplishing anything I commit to.”

This should take you some time!

Don’t rush this process.

By doing this carefully you’ll have a well thought-out plan for your brain so you’ll be intentionally thinking useful thoughts every day.

5) Believe Those Thoughts!

While this is what REALLY requires some practice…the process of believing is simple.

You just have to do this step-by-step process every single day until you believe the thoughts.

I know to some of you this may sound too simple to be true, but it’s not.

The reason why this doesn’t work for so many people is they don’t believe in the process, so they don’t stick with it long-term.

I encourage you to believe in this method.

And even if you don’t right now, it’s worth taking a chance on.

In summary, you’ll get the best results by setting time every day to:

  • Write down your current feelings
  • Write down the thoughts causing those feelings
  • Write down what feelings you want to feel
  • Write down the thoughts you’ll manifest to produce those feelings
  • Believe the thoughts. Repeat them daily.

Useless Feelings

It’s important to note that there are a number of feelings that your brain will tell you are useful for survival, but that are ultimately preventing you from creating the results you want in life.

Examples of useless feelings are that are stunting your personal growth are:

  • Fear
  • Doubt
  • Overwhelm
  • Jealousy
  • Anger

So, just keep this in mind when you’re examining which feelings you want to choose for your life.

Prioritize feelings that are actually USEFUL and will produce the results you want.

To Wrap Things Up…

I highly encourage you to incorporate this ritual into your daily routine.

I examine my thoughts and feelings every single morning.

Every time I intentionally manifest thoughts to produce the feelings I want, I accomplish ten times more that day.

This information is life-changing.

I can’t wait to see what you do with it.
